Beights Corporation is truly excited to announce the addition of da Luca Cafe’ and Wine Bar to the Old Trail Village Center. Created by local resident and custom home builder, Domenico D’Auria, da Luca will feature freshly prepared Mediterranean dishes and an extensive selection of eclectic wines and beers for patrons to enjoy. da Luca will be open for lunch and dinner seven days per week offering live music and wine-tasting events.

Born and raised in Naples, Italy, Domenico D’Auria has been building beautiful custom homes in the Albemarle area for 7 years. A resident of Greenwood in Western Albemarle, D’Auria has been building Earthcraft homes in Old Trail Village for over a year and it is that experience that motivated him to create this new venture. D’Auria said:   “Where I grew up, we had towns where all the commercial shops were right near where you lived - it was very friendly and efficient. Community is very important to my family and me, and we wanted to be part of the unique community in Old Trail Village. The energy and opportunity here is really exciting.”

In addition to dine-in options for lunch and dinner, da Luca will also feature wine and beer for retail purchase. Staying close to his Italian roots, D’Auria will offer primarily imported wines, stating, “I want to give people the opportunity to enjoy wines that are unique and of high quality, but are still affordable. We’ll have an extensive tasting menu and a great selection of wines from all over the world, as well as some local favorites.”

da Luca Café and Wine Bar will open in August in the Old Trail Village Center, located in Crozet, Virginia.  For more information about Old Trail Village and the new shops in the Old Trail Village Center, visit www.OldTrailVillage.com.

Lucinda Riley opened her new salon and barbershop in the Old Trail Village Center this past Saturday with great success.  Although a low-publicity “soft” opening, there were many visitors to the new space as well as clients.  Said Lucinda about the event, “We had so many people come by, both for services and to setup future appointments.  I was pleasantly surprised that so many folks also stopped in to buy haircare products, too.  I’m glad that we’re already serving people here in Crozet.”

Face Value Salon and Barbershop is open Tuesday-Saturday.  To learn more, stop by the Old Trail Village Center or visit Face Value online, www.FaceValueStudio.com.

Exciting new pics of the Old Trail Village Center and Pool progress.  Pool decking (about 25,000 square feet of concrete) is being poured in sections all week.  Ted Potter, pool contractor, explained that the reason for this is to accomodate necessary expansion joints between sections.  This heavily reinforced concrete with internal wire mesh and rebar will provide a safe surface for many years to come.

Striping was added to the parking lot of the Old Trail Village Center this past weekend in advance of the opening of Face Value Studio and Salon THIS SATURDAY!  In fact, you can see carpenters hard at work creating the fine finishing touches for Lucinda Riley’s gorgeous new space.

Crozet/Charlottesville-area local blogger and real estate agent, Jim Duncan, recently sat down with Marcia McGee, owner/proprietress of our very own Trailside Coffee.  Seated on the patio of her new shop (soon to open!), Jim interviewed Marcia about the new space, offerings, and created this great video interview of Marcia talking about her new coffee shop, opening soon in the Village Center.

I met up with Marcia following that interview and snapped a few images for this blog; she had brought over the first of her patio furniture and we “tested” it on a really gorgeous afternoon last week.

In addition to supervising construction of her new space, Marcia also recently received her Level I Barista certification.  Difficult to achieve, the Barista Certification is an exclusive certification - Marcia was one of only 15 to receive it this time.

Here are some images for you:
